Start capacitors are used during the motor start-up phase to provide rotating torque and are disconnected once the motor reaches a pre-determined speed. Aluminium electrolytic and MPP AC motor start capacitors are mainly used for starting single-phase AC motors with a rated voltage of 110-370VAC and a frequency of 50/60 Hz.
